For my thesis, I created a series of posters, stickers and postcards that explore graphic design, storytelling, and emotional memory. "Ghostly Bonds" explores the quiet, lasting connection between two spirits, inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and Shinto beliefs. In Shinto, spirits—known as kami—reside in all things: rivers, trees, wind, even memories. This worldview sees nature not as scenery, but as something alive and worthy of respect. The piece reflects on how these unseen forces shape our relationships with others and with the world around us. Like Miyazaki, who believes modern life causes us to lose touch with nature, this work invites viewers to reflect on the invisible ties that connect us—to each other, to nature, and to the spirit in all things.
